The Beginning...

Why hello there, you've made it to the blog. Welcome! It's lovely to have you here, why don't you get comfortable and grab a nice drink of your choosing? Or not. Whichever option you prefer.

So, I've finally gotten around to publishing a blog after telling myself I would for... months? Let's not kid ourselves here, it's years. Instead of just doing it in the new year, I've done it on the 30th of December. Look at me go!

I figured I would start with a little introduction. I thought about how I wanted to go about this blog of mine, and decided that I would use it completely as I wished, because why not? I have a keyboard, an Internet connection and ideas in my head, so there's no reason I shouldn't share them.

Learning makes me happy. I love it. LOVE it. I love the way it feels when you understand something for the first time, when you're out on a walk and you see something and it sparks a memory of something you were studying, the feeling of explaining a concept to someone and you can see it click in their head and all of a sudden you can both understand each other. I love being able to see the world from different perspectives, to be able to empathise with people, to connect the dots in things you previously didn't associate with anything. Bloody brilliant. So, I shall talk about learning to my heart's content.

I want to be able to talk about feminism. Intersectional feminism, inclusion. I want to talk about racism, sexism, ableism, poverty, educational inequality. I want to talk about politics. I want to articulate my opinions without being shot down. I want to fight for equality. I want to create a safe space where ideas can be shared and elaborated on and changed and improved. I'm sick of keeping my mouth shut for other people's comfort so here, I will be bold. I will shout. I will spill my thoughts out for everyone to hear, because they deserve to be noticed, And so do yours. So if you are reading this, you are welcome here. You can shout with me, without fear of judgement. 

But I also want to talk about good things, light things. I want to talk about the good nights I share with the people I love, my favourite books, things I've learned that I'm bursting to share with someone. I want to talk about sunsets and beaches and flowers and libraries and beautiful things that I see when I watch people going about their days. These will be included, as I feel they should.

So, in conclusion, this is the vibe for the blog. I hope you find something that inspires you.
